A course that provides students with an overview of project planning management. Design to deepen critical understanding of the strategies, processes, techniques, and issues involved in project planning and development and turning them into identifiable outcomes and impacts. It helps students identify factors leading to project success and learn how to plan, analyze, manage projects. This course involves the development of a project logical framework, formulating work plans, management plans, risk management plans, and cost schedules. Building on this knowledge students is expected to develop a project proposal within their field of interest.
The course presents theories of efficient and sustainable utilization of natural resources, covering both renewable and nonrenewable resources. It also discusses topics such as land valuation and use, water economics, and the management of nonrenewable resources like minerals and energy. Students learn to apply economic theories and quantitative tools to address resource-related challenges, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
This comprehensive course delves into the essential aspects of successful project management, equipping students with the skills to plan, execute, and evaluate projects effectively. The course is structured in two parts, each focusing on a crucial project lifecycle stage.
- The first part of the course lays the groundwork for successful project execution, including the fundamental principles of project management, such as defining project scope, establishing clear objectives, and identifying key stakeholders. Students will learn how to develop a robust project plan that outlines the essential resources, activities, timelines, and budget required to achieve your project goals.
- The second part of the course shifts focus to robust project evaluation methodologies. We'll explore different evaluation frameworks, enabling you to assess project effectiveness, efficiency, and impact. The students will learn the tools to assess the true impact of interventions, programs, and policies. Explore a range of rigorous impact evaluation methodologies, including randomized controlled trials, difference-in-differences analysis, and propensity score matching. Learn to design evaluations that isolate the causal effects of interventions and effectively measure their effectiveness. Gain the skills to analyze data, interpret findings, and communicate the impact of your work to diverse audiences. This course is ideal for researchers, policymakers, program managers, and anyone seeking to measure the real-world difference their work makes
The course provides an introduction to both microeconomics and macroeconomics. It covers fundamental concepts such as supply and demand, consumer and producer behavior, and different market structures.
