This course teaches the theory and operation of solid-state devices and control circuits for industrial processes; industrial control applications; electronics instrumentation; transducers; data acquisition system, power supply and voltage regulator. It also covers photo electronics, sensors, and instruments used in industrial applications. It includes variable-frequency drives, DC motors, servomotors and stepper motor drives; application of relay logic circuits; and interfacing and programming of PLCs.
