This course introduces the fundamental principles of engineering economy and financial management as
applied to Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. It covers the concepts of the time value of money,
financial statement analysis, inflation, financial viability assessment, feasibility analysis, and the preparation
and evaluation of engineering feasibility studies. The course also introduces relevant International
Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to strengthen students'
financial literacy and decision-making skills in engineering practice. It supports the development of
economically sound, sustainable, and investment-ready engineering projects aligned with professional
practice.
