This course enables students to explore fluid power technology using fluids or compressed air as the transfer  media. Complete hydraulic and pneumatic systems are studied including power sources, reservoirs, pumps, compressors, lines, valves and actuators. Students will learn troubleshooting strategies to identify, localize and  correct malfunctions. Preventative maintenance and safety issues will also be covered. Moreover, students will also learn to replace the conventional mechanical methods of control and signaling with new techniques using  relays, electrical or electronics switches and sensors to control pneumatic and hydraulic circuits. It aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
