This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of insect diversity, classification processes, and practical identification techniques. Students will explore the fundamental principles of insect classification, utilizing sustainable tools to classify insects up to the order level and, in some cases, important families within each order. As part of the course requirements, students will collect representative specimens from key insect orders and families. They will analyze and discuss the major significance of these insects, highlighting their vital roles in maintaining ecosystem diversity and contributing to sustainable agriculture. Thus, students will develop a deeper awareness of the importance of insects in our ecosystems and their contributions to environmental balance.
