The course will cover areas in quantitative and qualitative methods in conducting agricultural research studies. Students will undergo a comprehensive learning experience on the topics that elucidate the importance of undertaking research in the context of addressing issues of the modern world agriculture without compromising the traditional knowledge in agriculture. Moreover, the course is embedded with topics that help students to formulate inquiries through recognizing current and relevant research problems related to agriculture with emphasis on their chosen field of specialization anchored to the college research agenda on green agriculture, thereby enhancing their analytical and critical thinking skills to give practical and rational solutions to the existing problem. In particular, students will develop and enhance their skills in preparing a thesis outline, designing and conducting experiments, and analyzing, interpreting, and writing a research paper. The principles and approaches involved in scientific writing will also be discussed in detail. Afterward, the students will be able to learn how to select appropriate research statistical methods and designs that will guide them in collecting, observing, analyzing, interpretation of the data, and presenting a research paper to be presented in scientific meetings and/or forums.
