This course will focus on the identification, biology, behavior, ecology, and economic impact, and management of postharvest and structural insect pests in the Philippines. The main goal of this course is to provide male and female students with a working knowledge and skills in dealing with insect pests of postharvest commodities and structural pests focusing on termites. After completing the course, students are expected to be able to identify major postharvest and structural insect pests mainly on their biology and ecology and formulate and apply sound management strategies against these pests for sustainable insect pest management. The course will contribute to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 2 – Zero Hunger and 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.
