This course will focus on the identification, biology, behavior, ecology, economic impact and management of postharvest and structural insect pests in the Philippines. The main goal of this course is to provide students with a working knowledge and skills in dealing with insect pests of postharvest commodities and structural pests focusing on termites. After completing the course, students are expected to be able to identify major postharvest and structural insect pests mainly on their biology and ecology and formulate and apply sound management strategies against these pests for sustainable insect pest management, structurally safe establishment and/or orchards and food secured community.
