The course deals with the different modes of heat and mass transfer, laws governing conduction, convection and radiation and its application to the design of common heat exchangers such as condenser, cooling coils and evaporators; and the environmental impact of their operation.

The course deals with the study of mechanisms disregarding the forces and energies that causes the motion. It provides emphasis on the analytical and graphical study of displacement, velocity and acceleration. This includes the study of the elements of mechanisms such as gears, train, rolling bodies, belt and pulleys, cams and followers
