This course studies Philippine folk literature, specifically mythology and folklore. It exposes students to the historical background of oral tradition and written forms from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It also explores the contribution of these lores to the literary heritage of the country, which may help students gain deeper insights into the different literary and cultural patterns in the Philippines.
