Students enrolled in Bio 413 (Developmental Zoology lecture and laboratory) will spend 108 hours (54 hours for lecture and 54 hours for the laboratory) to develop mastery of the fundamental knowledge and practices in Developmental Zoology. Students are expected to read in advance the topics to actively participate in the discussion both in the lecture and laboratory. Those who have difficulty in understanding the lessons are expected to spend extra hours studying the present topics because they are essential to succeeding lessons. Students are required to submit fate maps of ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. Two examinations with a passing score of 60% are required to pass the course. Students are required to conduct experiments and illustrate embryonic development using prepared microscopic slides for the laboratory.
