An introductory course covering the core concepts of limit, continuity and differentiability of functions, involving one or more variables. This also includes the application of differential calculations in solving problems on optimization, rates of change, related rates, tangents and normal, and approximations; partial differentiation and transcendental curve tracing

This course builds foundational mathematical skills essential for all fields of engineering, science, and technology. This course also develops students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling them to tackle complex engineering problems with a strong mathematical base. It fosters higher-order thinking, logical reasoning, and application of mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios. (SDG 4).
