This course provides an introduction to stylistics, its development, exploration and extension. This also provides a comprehensive overview of the methods and theories and theories of stylistics from meter to metaphor, dialogue to discourse. Moreover, this course enables students to uncover the layers, patterns and levels that constitute stylistic description; this helps them develop a set of stylistic tools on their own, which can be applied to any text. Likewise, it also provides discourse theories and models and some selected discourse topics.
This course focuses on child and adolescent development with emphasis on current research and theory on biological, linguistic, cognitive, social, and emotional dimensions of development of the learners and shall include appropriate pedagogical principles applicable for each developmental level.
