Hello Dear Students! Welcome to LST 316- Indigenous Knowledge and Multi-Culturalism course.
This course deals with diversity in terms of culture. It also provides an understanding of cultural and demographic similarities and differences and explores the contribution of multiculturalism and indigenous knowledge in improving and reshaping teaching strategies and approaches. Module Overview: This module will discuss the definition of indigenous knowledge, traditional knowledge, and local knowledge. As a learner, you will also be acquainted with the significance and relevance of indigenous and traditional knowledge to develop new strategies for meeting the twenty-first century's challenges. At the end of this module, you are expected to submit an online or paper journal that contains students' narrations, feedback, experiences, and learnings of each lesson. Depending on the student's ICT capability, this can be done in print, online, or electronic.
Principles, theories, and development of indexing and abstracting as well as preparation of book,
journal and newspaper indexes. Advanced indexing is also introduced including image or website
indexing, thesaurus construction, and preparation of abstracts.
