This course provides graduate students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula and learning environments for young children ages 3 to 8. Emphasis is placed on writing meaningful goals and objectives, developing lesson plans, structuring daily schedules, and fostering strong partnerships with families. The course also examines inclusive and culturally responsive practices, ensuring that diverse learners are supported in early childhood settings. Students will explore and apply principles of curriculum planning across developmental stages, from infancy through the early school years, with particular focus on a child-centered, play-based approach. Through critical reflection and practical application, the course cultivates professional attitudes that promote holistic development, creativity, and lifelong learning in young children.
