In the graduate seminar, students are expected to be ready on how to publish papers in Applied Mathematics. Different research methods and writing styles and techniques are discussed. Students choose a topic and survey research conducted. At the end of the semester, students write a survey research paper and discusses possible research direction and presented it to a seminar.
This course will introduce students to aspects of set theory and formal logic. It will include topics in Set Theory such as sets, statement calculus, methods of proofs, relations and functions, cardinal numbers, and ordered sets.
