The course deals with the processes and pathways where carbohydrates, fats, proteins and nucleic acids can be used as energy and as precursors in the biosynthesis of other secondary molecules/compounds. This also includes regulation of the various biochemical pathways to normal physiologic function essential in maintaining homeostasis the systems of land and water organisms (SGD 14, 15) for its survival and environmental sustainability
