This course prepares the students to gather, describe, and analyze data using statistical methods and tools. It helps students develop the understanding that they will need to make informed decisions using data, and to communicate the results effectively. The course is an introduction to the essential concepts, tools and methods of statistics for students in technology and industry. The course covers descriptive statistics that includes collecting data and summarizing and interpreting them through numerical and graphical techniques. Furthermore, the course will include essential topics in statistical inference to equip the students in properly evaluating competing interventions and technologies. Students will also develop some understanding of the limitations of statistical inference and of the ethics of data analysis and statistics

This course explores the different quantitative methodological approaches in research. Included in the course are the varied research designs, respondents, sampling techniques, instrumentation, data collection and analysis. Furthermore, statistical tools and techniques will be explored specifically the statistical software. Finally, the development of research proposal is required relevant to their field of specialization.
